An experimental journey of a multidisciplinary creative duo (illustrator Madalina Andronic & designer Claudiu Stefan) through the awesome milky-silky world of porcelain, with a touch of Romanian folklore. Our wish is to create heart-to-heart, beautifully adorned decorative objects for individuals and homes. All the pieces are designed and hand-decorated individually, using porcelain, underglaze colours, stoneware glazes and love. WAH – We Are Here is a pop-up collective exhibition initiated by recent
graduates of the Design Academy Eindhoven. WAH was born with the intention of
moving from city to city telling stories of different designers and how they
research in their direct environment. This year, WAH starts its run during the
3th edition of the Schio
Design Festival hosted by Fabbrica
Saccardo, a cultural center located in Schio, a city in the North East of
Italy.
WAH is a composed of 10 young designers from 7 different countries, residing in
7 different cities within Europe, who met through their education at the Master
Course of Social and Contextual Design. After graduating, the designers decided
to extend their collaboration by showcasing their work collectively, an idea
that was initiated by Giacomo Piovan, who brought together some projects from a
group of acquaintances. Accordingly, WAH gathered projects within graphics,
products, photography, jewelry and fashion and further connected them to local
designers. Through believing that Design is closer to what people might think,
WAH´s aim is therefore that design should be directly communicated to the
public in order to rise awareness on themes such self-production, storytelling
and social design.
