Michelle Liu - Dutch Design Week
Recently graduated in the Social Design Master department of the Design Academy Eindhoven, Michelle Liu (USA) did develop this interesting concept.
Beecosystem is a project that utilizes the current state of the global honeybee crisis as a host to try and focus on finding possible solutions to revive cyclical thinking. Having a thorough understanding of the connections between the various components that make up life on earth can have an affect on how we consider our daily activities. How can design play a role in designing small gestures that can have a big impact on human behavior?

Kyra van Ineveld - Dutch Design Week
Dutch designer Kyra van Ineveld did research the impact of the new information technology tools and how they change the information system and the truth.
Taking Wikipedia as case study, Kyra did investigate the topics that are updated most often from the public of this online encyclopaedia. She narrowed them down to five: Obama, war in Gaza, Catholic Church, global warming, race and intelligence.
Then she printed all the changes in a massive series of books, combining the old book style and the information (wikipedia style) in order to promote the real truth.

Anouk Vogel
A beautiful project from Dutch designer Anouk Vogel.
These dresses are made from used bicycle inner tubes, the dress’s dahlia-like surface is the result of myriad individual vases that can hold water. Depending on the type of flowers used and how they’re positioned, the appearance of the dress can change radically.

Adam Katz
Here a fantastic installation of communication designer Adam Katz.
" I was asked to create a typographic solution for Stefan Sagmeister's prompt of Things that I have learned in my life. My solution was to spray paint over 1,500 little green plastic army men day-glo orange and affix them to a window store front in New York City with my saying "All of my good ideas are battles." The piece remained up at 136 West 21st for over a month. "

John Stezaker
Do not miss the exhibition of British artist John Stezaker at the Whitechapel Gallery (London).
The artist combines in a very conceptual way parts of old postcards, portraits and books illustrations in order to create a new and subversive image. The exhibition runs till march 2011.
