Surely you have seen on many magazines the magic and poetic work of Su Blackwell.
This English artist wants to communicate “the precariousness of the world we inhabit and the fragility of our life, dreams and ambitions”.
With her book-cut sculptures and installations she certainly brings us to another dimension.
To be seen soon at the Long & Ryle Gallery, London.

Pecha Kucha Night
{photo from Sharearchitecture.co}
I could finally take part to my first Pecha Kucha Night.
For the one of you who do not know, the Pecha Kucha are evenings where architects, designers, artists and creative people can meet for show and discuss their works. Each speaker can show 20 images, each image will stay for 20 seconds. The discussion stays fast and fresh.
The name Pecha Kucha is Japanese for "sound of conversation", the architects studio Klein Dytham did patent the idea and now you can attend these nights all around the world.
Beeing someone who talks a lot myself I like the idea to be short and clear, the evening was extremely interesting!!

Sand & Birch Design
I immediately loved Olivia, a led floor lamp realized in aluminium designed by Sand & Birch Design. Sand & Birch are actually the italian designers Andrea Fina, with background in law and communication, and Samanta Snidaro, with background in architecture and graphics.
Olivia will be launched at Maison & Object in Paris the coming January 2009.
Elena Locatelli
The Italian Illustrator Elena Locatelli knows how to use the digital tools in a trully creative way, see here her beautiful illustrations for magazines and for packaging projects.
