The September Issue

I am looking forward to see The September Issue , the R.J. Cutler documentary about Anna Wintour (Vogue USA Editor in Chief) and the making of the September issue, one of the most important of the year, in the fashion industry.

Here and here you can see some trailers, I personally like Anna, in spite of all what we read about her.
Working myself with some "famous" designers I know they can be rather arrogant and demanding.

However years of experience thought me that they must be inflexible in order to keep the work quality high.
I am waiting for this documentary in order to get more insider notes......cannot wait!!

Studio Gorm

Peg
Two Masters Alumni from the Design Academy Eindhoven are the designers behind the Studio Gorm.
John Arndt (USA) and Wonhee Jeehong (Korea) are thinking about products that will respect the enviroment. Their designs are clean and simple, beautifully made.
Take for example the shaker peg rail, the Korean wall hung table, the tinker toy and the lowly shop broom. A flexible furniture system made up of simple components, which can be assembled in a variety of ways to accommodate a multitude of scenarios.

Welcome Back!!

I feel like if I am ready for the new season, like if I am ready to go "back to school" again.
Moleskine is having some templates on line, their products are the best for taking notes.

Anna Maria Cornelia

Designer Anna Maria Cornelia van Gersem (Belgium) did contribute recently to a very special magazine launch. In one of the hangar of Schiphol Airport, (NL) , people were entertained with an original “flying away" breakfast, hostess and Stewart were welcoming the guests; the food was also designed for the real fly containers...... See more work of Anna Maria Cornelia here.

Alexander van Slobbe - Orson+Bodil

Last week I was between the lucky selected guests at the Orson+Bodil fashion show, designed by Alexander van Slobbe. I knew a bit the previous work of this Dutch Fashion designer, but the catwalk pieces I saw were almost all new. I really loved the beautiful minimal shape of each garment, silk and organic fabrics were just sculpted on the models body, becoming elegant and original clothes for day and night. After the show I just wanted to go home and start to work with textile, I was so inspired!

Droog Design last news

Gijs Bakker, founder and director of the famous Dutch design platform Droog Design together with Renny Ramakers, is stepping out. The decision seems to have to do with a disagreement between the two about the vision for the future of the platform.
Is this the end of Droog?

Legeron flowers

From a friend who is working in Paris I did hear about the maison Legeron and their beautiful flowers. A quick research on line opened my eyes and brought me to discover this incredible atelier. If you are not familiar with their work please make sure you visit their website. This maison is a treasure! Their silk flowers are still made completely by hand, using traditional tools. The atelier is now managed by the grandson of the founder and their clients are the super selected fashion houses around the world.
